Power Steering RAM Instructions
The Lee Power Steering RAM Kit comes with a tie rod clamp to mount one side of the ram. Mounting the second side can be done in various ways depending on the vehicle and the size of the lift it has.
In some vehicles (such as 99-04 F250/250/Excursion), you can utilize the existing stabilizer mount on the passenger side, and then our tie rod clamp more towards the center of the vehicle.
In other applications, you will use our tie rod clamp closer to the steering knuckle, then use a diff cover with welded mounting tabs, a diff cover you can weld custom tabs to (preferred), or a bolt on bracket at the diff cover.
It is important to mount the ram as parallel to the tie rod as possible, then articulate your suspension and steering through a full range of travel to check for interference (both the cylinder itself as well as the hoses). The best way to get it parallel is to fabricate the tabs to the correct size for welding. There are some different covers that have the tabs pre-welded, but they are not always in the perfect spot.
